Larry Brasher is a master storyteller whose humorous anecdotes celebrate the heart and soul of this rural community in the 1970s.

He was only twenty-four and still in divinity school when, in 1971, he came to shepherd the flocks of two Methodist churches in Stillwater and Swartswood. He spent his eight-year tenure getting to know every member of the community and befriending nearly every tree that grew on their land. A half-century later, he is still grateful for the many lessons he learned from the people of Stillwater.
