Genealogy Research
The HSST’s extensive collection of genealogical materials is based on research findings about Sussex County-based families that have been compiled by local historians. The records include obituaries, newspaper articles about family history, church records and a variety of published documents.
Catalogued according to family surnames, the collection is one of very few in the county that has been digitized, making it quicker to access materials. The current collection includes nearly 2,000 family names and nearly 38,000 printed items.
HSST members are welcome to come to the HSST Academy building and work with a genealogy specialist in retrieving materials. Access is given by appointment only.

Research Fees: $30/year for a maximum of five hours at HSST. Additional visits are charged separately.

Genealogy Research Fee
An annual research fee of $30 entitles members to have access to digitalized genealogy files that are organized according to last names (family names.) The fee covers five hours of research with a genealogist at HSST.
