This exquisite bed-size quilt, almost a century old, was the handiwork of Helen Campbell
and the Swartswood Ladies’ Aid Society. Mrs. Campbell arrived in Swartswood in 1929 to
teach in the one-room schoolhouse on Route 521 continued teaching for the next
three decades. Many thanks to Debbie Campbell for donating this treasure, among other artifacts,
including a memoir written by her mother.
