Abby LoCoscio from Kittatinny Regional High School (KRHS) was awarded the first Historical Society of Stillwater Township scholarship. The award was created to recognize a graduating senior who has excelled in the study of history. Abby selected by the staff of KRHS and the scholarship of $500 was presented at KRHS Senior Awards program on Monday, June 6.

Abby grew up in the Paulinskill Lake community. She attended Stillwater School and visited the Academy while a student there. She will be attending the University of Arizona this fall. She plans to study biology but also has a passion for history and has taken the AP exams for both US History and European history. She volunteered at HSST for both Stillwater Cleanup Day and Fall Festival.

When asked about the best part of growing up in Stillwater, she replied that it was “the community that was always there to help and support me.  Even though I am going to college far away, I know I will have people back home that are supporting me.”
