The Montclair Historical Society's second Sunday Spotlight, “Reading Between the Lines,” takes place on Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 3 pm and is led by a father/son pair of teachers. Peter Tamburro, teacher of AP History at the Frisch School, Paramus, and author of Gateway to Morris, a history of East Hanover, NJ, and his son Chris Tamburro, who teaches history at Verona High School, share their collection of historic newspapers. After a brief introduction to the collection, the audience will peruse the papers to discover how to “read between the lines” and find that newspapers can be a window to the past, not only through news stories, but editorials, the ads, and more. At 108 Orange Road, Montclair, with a suggested donation of $5.
