Museum Sale Held to coincide with the Stillwater Garage Sale Days, Joan Teare and a corps of volunteers tagged and sold items such as old bottles, jewelry, good scarves, silver, and glassware plus a table of items from our museum store. Unfortunately, the rain literally came down in buckets by 2 PM and we ended the event early. It did prove to be fairly successful, given the shortened day.
There is a wonderful story to note that came to our attention: A local girl by the name of Sarah Meyer, who happens to be the granddaughter of members Mac and Gladys Rosenkrans, had set up a table of her own with items to sell for Sale Day and was thoughtful enough to also have on her table a box that she made that asked for donations to the Historical Society of Stillwater Township. Sarah managed to collect $25.00 that day and presented it to President Mike Wiley that afternoon. Way to go, Sarah!!!! (We should all learn a lesson in giving from this generous 10.year-old)
