The Historical Society of Stillwater Township is dedicated to preserving the past history of Stillwater and the surrounding area for us to appreciate and learn from today and for those in the future as well.
The Society welcomes donations of all kinds relating to the past history of Stillwater for inclusion in our museum. Old documents (deeds, maps, family papers), books dealing with history in the Sussex County area, photos, newspaper articles, diaries, and family bibles are a few of the things that can tell us of the past. Artifacts indigenous to this area, tools (from farms or old area industry), hardware, historic costumes, jewelry, and furniture are also welcome for the museum display.
Donations towards Upkeep
Maintaining proper environmental conditions is important to the preservation of our collection. We've made improvements to the environmental conditions in the museum, but could still use three standing fans to help with air circulation. Please contact us if you can help with this need.
Financial Support
Cash donations are much appreciated. These donations enable us to add to our collection, provide for upkeep of the museum and its property and to help with operating expenses.
